What a tedious task (I do like those) stitching these fuzzy antennea for this collection of moth bodies. I learned a few wonderful things about moths while making these… I did not know that moth smells with her antennea. She can smell her potential mate as far as a kilometer away! I did not know how seriously moth takes her job of nighttime pollination. One moth can dip her odd proboscis in as many as 46 flowers in one night. That’s a bender! Finally, I did not know there are over 160,000 described species of moths. People discover new ones all the time and scientists think there are tens of thousands of unidentified species. That is a good amount of mystery left in the world! Most of the moths I am making are a part of that undiscovered group. What a relief to imagine all those unknowns. Here’s to more of that in our world!
